Mayor Goes Undercover During Denver Restaurant Week

DENVER (CBS4)- Denver Mayor Michael Hancock went undercover for Denver Restaurant Week.

He suited up as a waiter on Friday and delivered meals, desserts and made sure water glasses were topped off for guests at Cholon Modern Asian Bistro.

Hancock said he learned many important skills working in the food industry before he was elected mayor last year.

"I worked as a waiter in high school and college. So this is like, relearning the protocols, but it feels good, it comes back very naturally. It's like riding a bike," said Hancock.

The mayor encourages everyone to check out Restaurant Week before it ends March 9.

There are 337 restaurants participating in Restaurant Week. To learn more, visit the Denver Restaurant Week website.
