Inmate Hospitalized After Apparent Suicide Attempt

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a 21-year-old inmate at the Boulder County jail is in critical condition after an apparent suicide attempt in his cell.

Cmdr. Rick Brough with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office says the man, whose name has not been released, was found unresponsive at about 12:40 a.m. Saturday after deputies noticed his cell window had been covered from the inside. Deputies began CPR, and the inmate was taken to the hospital.

The man was housed in a single-bunk cell and had been at the jail since Jan. 24 on charges of violating probation and violating a restraining order.
