Park County Horses Seized Over Lack Of Care

FAIRPLAY, Colo. (AP) -- The owners of six horses are facing animal cruelty charges after the horses were seized by authorities for lack of care.

The Park County Sheriff's Office says it got a complaint that a horse had died at the Echo Valley Ranch. The cause of death was listed as an infection that required veterinary care.

The sheriff's office says it has received a number of calls from people offering to help the horses.

The owners were not identified.
