COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Jurors in Colorado Springs found Detra Farries guilty on three counts in the tow truck dragging death trial. They revealed their verdict at about 5:25 p.m. Friday.
Farries was found guilty of leaving the scene, manslaughter and vehicular homicide. Those charges stem from the death of a tow truck driver who was dragged by her vehicle in Feb. 2011.
Prosecutors claimed that on Feb. 23, 2011, Farries drove off as Allen Lew Rose was preparing to tow her SUV, and he died after getting caught in a cable he had attached to her vehicle. Farries’ attorneys have said Farries didn’t realize Rose was being dragged.
There is a memorial for Rose where the SUV driver finally stopped. A portion of the memorial is covered up because jurors viewed the scene and attorneys didn’t want them to be influenced by the emotional theme of the memorial.

A memorial to Allen Rose still stands in Colorado Springs where it remains partially covered because jurors in the trial viewed it earlier this week. (credit: CBS)
