Bus Driver Avoids Serious Charges After Striking Teens

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - State officials announced Friday that the school bus driver who struck three teenage girls in Jefferson County Tuesday will face three misdemeanor charges.

David Shaw, 43, was cited on Thursday by the Colorado State Patrol on three charges of Careless Driving Causing Bodily Injury.

The incident happened just after 3 p.m. near South Simms and West Cross Avenue in unincorporated Jefferson County. All three were students at Summit Ridge Middle School.

None of the students sustained life-threatening injuries.
