DENVER (CBS4) – Snow in Colorado on Thursday forced the Colorado Department of Transportation to close several large stretches of Interstate 70 in the high country.
At 8 a.m.:
Eastbound I- 70 was closed from Vail to Idaho Springs.
Westbound I-70 was also closed from C-470 to Vail.
Other highways in the state were also closed:
US6 over Loveland Pass
US40 over Berthoud Pass
There were several accidents that shut down eastbound I-70 at 32nd and at 8 a.m. there was a crash that shut down eastbound I-70 at Limon for a short time.
A crash on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock also shut down several northbound lanes at about 8 a.m.
