Digital First Media Names 4 To New Positions

DENVER (AP) - Digital First Media, which jointly manages Denver-based MediaNews Group Inc. and Journal Register Co., has appointed four journalists to help newsrooms quickly switch to a digital strategy and engage with their communities.

New York-based Digital First Media said Wednesday that former Huffington Post social news editor Mandy Jenkins will be its digital projects editor.

Former Oakland Tribune editor Martin G. Reynolds will be the engagement editor for a region covering California newsrooms.

The Denver Post's social media editor Dan Petty will be engagement editor for newsrooms in Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas and Utah.

Ivan Lajara has been named engagement editor for a region covering Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and West Virginia. He was life editor of the Daily Freeman in Kingston, N.Y.
