Grandmother Now Faces Murder Charges In Death Of Grandson
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) - A Commerce City grandmother is now facing murder charges in the death of her 4-year-old grandson.
Prosecutors increased the charges against Doris Becky Trujillo, 60, to first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.
The coroner's office says 4-year-old Gabriel Trujillo died from blunt force injuries to the head and neck.
In court on Tuesday there was a large showing of family members.
The upgrading of the charges now makes the case eligible for capital punishment.
Trujillo is due back in court next week.
