CDOT Considers Using I-70 Shoulders To Ease Gridlock
DENVER (CBS4) - The latest proposal to ease ski weekend gridlock in Colorado is to allow cars on the shoulders through a short stretch of Interstate 70.
Officials with the Colorado Department of Transportation are looking at using the shoulder as a third lane between Empire and the Twin Tunnels near Idaho Springs.
The proposal would cost about $30 million, and officials say they need to do more research on the idea.
