Dr. Patty Gabow has been with Denver Health for almost 40 years.

As the current CEO who is also a doctor, she has witnessed many changes. Some very good. Some not so good. However, all have led her to becoming a better doctor and better CEO.

Dr. Gabow is proud of several things.  No one is ever turned away from Denver Health because of their inability to pay.

The trauma center is one of the best, if not the best, in the nation. And the cost savings model she employed at Denver Health was fashioned after car manufacturer Toyota. 

It’s resulted in a savings for the hospital totaling in the 100′s of millions of dollars.

Even though she is leaving Denver Health, Dr. Gabow is not leaving Denver.  Patty has finished one career and is about to start another.  I can’t wait to see what she comes up with for Denver.
