1 Killed, 1 Wounded During Shootings At Denver Home
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police are investigating the shooting of two people in which one of the victims died.
Sonny Jackson with Denver police said officers responded to a shooting call in the 3400 block of West 9th Avenue around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday.
"When Officers arrived on scene they found two individuals who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds," Jackson said in a statement. "One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was transported to the hospital with wounds to his lower body."
Jackson said investigators believe the resident of the home woke up and found an intruder in his house.
"The resident and the intruder struggled over a gun. Several shoots were fire striking both men. The intruder died at the scene and the resident was transported to the hospital," Jackson said.
Jackson said it appears the two people knew each other.
Police have not released the identity of either people involved.
