Lakewood Police Want Help Finding Fatal Hit & Run Driver

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Lakewood police are asking for the public's help finding the car and driver of a fatal hit-and-run.

The hit-and-run happened just west of the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and 10th Avenue.

Christine Perini, 54, was hit and killed shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday as she was walking down the road. Lakewood police say Perini was hit while walking east down 10th Avenue toward a gas station to get cigarettes. The car that hit her was going the same direction.

A neighbor found Perini in the road and called police.

Police are using security cameras from nearby businesses to see what kinds of cars approached and went through the intersection around that same time to help narrow their search.

"Any information is helpful. It's one of those things where if it's a color of a car that you saw that kind of looked suspicious, anything that would help us and give us a direction to go," Ty Countryman with Lakewood police said.

Police say once the autopsy is done they'll know what part of her body was hit. That should help tell them where she was on the road at the time and what part of the car should be showing damage from that impact.
