Colorado New Car Sales Finish Year Strong

DENVER (AP) - Colorado car and truck dealers are encouraged after new car and light truck registrations in Colorado finished 2011 with strong sales.

A report by the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association said Monday people went on a holiday spree in December, with registrations up 25 percent over the previous year.

Dealers say 2011 registrations were up more than 15 percent statewide.

Association president Tim Jackson says statewide, there were more than 130,000 new vehicles registered last year, compared to about 113,000 new vehicles in 2010.
