Teen Killed After Jumping From Moving Car And Getting Struck

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A 17-year-old girl jumped from the car her mother was driving and was killed when she was struck by another car early Saturday morning.

Investigators don't know why she jumped from the car. It happened at about 1 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 285 near Kipling.

State troopers say Catrina Fox opened her door and jumped from the moving vehicle into traffic.

A 17-year-old from Littleton was driving a PT Cruiser and struck Fox as she jumped into his lane. That teen immediately stopped and cooperated with the investigation.

No charges have been filed.
