There Are Plenty Of Things That Will Cost Less In 2012

DENVER (CBS4) - There are things that will cost less in 2012.

4 On Your Side Money Saver Suzanne McCarroll has been discovering how people can save their hard-earned money in this New Year.

Everybody knows that the cost of airfare has been on the rise, but traveling during the first quarter of the year is likely to be less expensive during the rest of the year.

Just in time for the Super Bowl, TVs are less expensive with the average price of an LCD now less than $500.

GPS units will cost less because demand is so much lower because most smartphones now have their own navigation systems.

Free messaging apps can replace monthly texting bills on a smartphone as well.

Drink up this year too, as wine prices are down and the quality is up. A sluggish economy has left a lot of extra bottles on the shelves at stores, many of which are now being discounted.

"The values are incredible. Worldwide, whether it's South African wines, New Zealand wines; they have just fabulous price points and terrific values," a wine expert said.

Interest rates are predicted to stay low or perhaps even dip a bit this year, which means getting a loan for a new car or house will be less expensive.

Kindles and Nooks are likely to get cheaper because of all the competition. iPads will probably hold their price and value.

Food and clothing prices will most likely be going up in 2012, cutting into saving from all the other items.
