Dave Logan Says He's Unaware Of Any Violations At Mullen

DENVER (CBS4) - Fired Mullen High School football coach Dave Logan says he has always run a clean football program.

Logan was fired from Mullen last week. On Thursday he addressed reports his former school had reported recruiting violations. Logan said he was unaware of any violations.

"(I) want to find out what's exactly going on and then deal with it. I know this. I've conducted myself for 19 years the right way," Logan said.

Logan told reporters he too wants to know what was behind the surprising announcement over recruiting violations.

A source shot video Wednesday night of concerned parents meeting with leaders of Mullen. That's when the school's president Ryan Clement announced he was passing possible recruiting violations over to the Colorado High Schools Activities Association (CHSAA).

CHSAA confirms they got the report.

"From what I've seen so far there is no highly overt actions that have taken place that I'm concerned with," CHSAA Commissioner Paul Angelico said.

A violation may have occurred during a game against Arapahoe High School where football staff allowed Eighth-grade recruits on the sideline.

Logan says he is ready to move on.

"I think now it's important we move forward and try to find a resting spot," he said.

CHSAA says it could be several weeks until they fully address the alleged violations. The governing board adds it's unlikely any serious sanctions would result.
