Colorado has one of the highest performing states when it comes to organ and tissue donations. Last year, the Donor Alliance recovered organs from 134 donors and recovered tissue from 966 donors.
Nationwide, there are 500,000 people who are saved by organ and tissue donations every year. But if you are on the fence about becoming a donor, think of this–every 12 minutes another name is added to the national transplant waiting list.
Despite the good news of Colorado residents donating more, there are still myths that prevail.
One of them is if you sign up to become an organ donor on your drivers license, paramedics won’t work as hard to save you. Not true! For more information, click on donoralliance.org/
