We decided what better way to celebrate our first wedding anniversary than to return to the place we said our “I do’s.”

Puerto Aventuras, Mexico was just as beautiful as I remembered, and it was wonderfully romantic to walk through and recall where we were a year ago January 8th.

Jimmy organized a romantic dinner in the gazebo where we married….and we traveled with our wedding candle so we could light it the night of.

Our anniversary night was perfect.

And as I sat there and looked at my husband with sunburned cheeks and windblown hair – I realized that while the return trip to our wedding spot was special – the only anniversary gift I needed was “him.”

Being with him – and promising to work on ourselves, our marriage, and our spirituality – are the most important things an anniversary can offer.
