DENVER (CBS Denver) — Tim Tebow just keeps setting records.
Not only did the Denver Broncos quarterback set a postseason record of 31.6 yards per completion during the thrilling 29-23 overtime victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he also will go down in Twitter history for most sports tweets per second.
Twitter announced today that there were 9,420 sports tweets per second after Tebow’s game-winning 80-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Demaryius Thomas Sunday night.
“Last night @TimTebow lead the @Denver_Broncos to an overtime playoff win and a new sports Tweets per second record: 9420,” Twitter said.
CNBC’s Darren Rovell tweeted that per second tweets about Tebow beat out the royal wedding, the Bin Laden raid and Steve Jobs’ death.
The Broncos will face the New England Patriots Saturday night in an AFC Divisional Playoff game.
