DENVER (AP) – Colorado Sen. Mark Udall is in Arizona to make remarks at a ceremony marking a year since U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and 18 others were shot.
Mark Udall grew up in Giffords’ district. His father, Morris “Mo” Udall, served Arizona in the U.S. House from 1961 to 1991.
Mark Udall is principal speaker as part of “Reflections: Honoring the Lives of the January 8 Shooting Victims” at the University of Arizona.
Mark Udall’s aides said Udall’s speech would be about restoring civility in politics.
