Florida Man Reunited With Lost Kitty In Colorado

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP/CBS4) -- A Florida cat owner reunited with his lost pet Wednesday. The cat was found hundreds of miles away, outside Denver.

Florida resident Daniel Johns lives in the Naples area. Not long after adopting a cat that he named Waylon this summer, the cat disappeared. In fact, Waylon was only in his new home for an hour.

Johns thinks Waylon sneaked out through a dryer vent and hitched a ride with a family.

"All of my friends, everyone I work with, said pretty much exactly that, you must be out of your mind. You're going up there for a cat you don't even know. Why not? It's an adventure, everybody likes an adventure. What do you got besides the stories you tell?," said Jones.

Last month, a good Samaritan found Waylon on a snowy street in Colorado and brought the cat to Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden.

A microchip in the cat linked him to Johns.

Johns reunited with his cat Wednesday morning at the animal shelter.
