Suspect In Deadly Shooting Allegedly Updated Facebook After Crime

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who is believed to have shot and killed a 49-year-old person in the Colorado Springs area on Friday night was updating his Facebook page after the crime.

Police in El Paso County arrested Rayshawn Laster, 26, Saturday morning, more than 6 hours after the deadly shooting in Security-Widefield and after he updated his Facebook status several times.

The search for Laster began after a 49-year-old woman was dead found with a gunshot wound to the head on the 400 block of Kiva Road at about 6 p.m., according to CBS4 partner KKTV.

Friends of Laster told KKTV there was an argument between Laster, 26, and his mother at her home before the shooting was reported.

The Gazette in Colorado Springs reported that among the posts on Facebook last night by Laster before being arrested, he wrote: "Im sorry for nothing. My journey has come to an end."

Laster has an extensive criminal history.
