‘Top Heavy Bandit’ Formally Charged In Bank Robberies
DENVER (CBS4)– The so called “Top Heavy Bandit” has been formally charged with robbing several banks.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has charged David Ling with aggravated robbery and robbery.
Ling, 40, is accused of robbing four banks on separate days in August, including First Bank at 1155 9th Ave., Community Bank at 277 Broadway, Chase Bank at 323 S. Broadway and Wells Fargo at 2150 S. Downing Street within just 12 days.
Ling was arrested by police in Boulder last weekend for a parole violation. He remains in custody in Boulder and is expected to be brought to Denver next month to face robbery charges.
Ling was dubbed the “Top Heavy Bandit” because he has a large build and a potbelly.
