Denver (CBS4) - The Colorado Avalanche confirmed Friday that forward Matt Duchene will miss at least a month with a knee injury.
Duchene injured his left knee during the first period of the Avs 3-2 win Thursday night against the Phoenix Coyotes. Duchene checked Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla into the glass at center-ice and immediately began to limp.
Duchene left the game and did not return.
Matt Duchene is in his third year with the Avalanche, and has 12 goals to go along with 12 assists in 39 games this season. The 20-year-old has missed just three games in his career prior to Thursday’s injury.
