Several House Fires Flare Up On Christmas

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Firefighters in Aurora rushed to an early morning house fire on Christmas.

The home at 3611 South Quintero Street was heavily damaged by the fire. The blaze started in the basement.

Nobody was home at the time, but the family dog died in the fire.

Someone that just happened to be passing by the home spotted the flames and called 911.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Also on Christmas firefighters in Denver rushed to extinguish a small garage fire. It broke out at 501 South Stuart Street at about 1 p.m.

Firefighters say the blaze was contained to the garage and didn’t spread to the home.

Investigators are trying to figure out what started the fire.
