Kids Get Shoe Shopping Spree After Generous Donations

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Earlier this week CBS4 reported on the theft of two boxes of toys from the lobby of the Thrive Church in Federal Heights.

After the story aired people donated more than 300 hundred toys and some gave cash to help cover the loss. So on Thursday pastors took 15 children to the Famous Footwear in Westminster. They were allowed to pick any pair of shoes they wanted.

"The kids feel like, I don't know, they're just so excited and feel like they are just getting a huge gift. They're just grateful," Jill Ishmael with Thrive Church said.

Pastors said the kids really needed new shoes. Some had cut off the tips of their shoes because they had outgrown them.
