DeShazer said the woman was legally crossing the street northbound within the crosswalk.

"The driver of the bus did not see the pedestrian and struck her near the median and dragged her about 10 feet," DeShazer said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

"Investigators charged the driver of the bus with careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury, a misdemeanor, and was released from the scene," DeShazer said.

The bus driver was identified as Michael Byars, 57, of Aurora. The pedestrian was identified as Rejenna Hargrove, 46, of Aurora.

None of the bus passengers were injured.
