DENVER (AP) — Chris Udofia scored 19 points and the University of Denver won its fourth in a row by beating The Citadel 70-58 on Thursday night.
Brett Olson, Chase Hallam and Royce O’Neale each added 10 points for Denver (10-2), which is off to its best start since returning to Division I play 13 years ago. The Pioneers improved to 7-1 at home this season.
Mike Groselle’s 16 points and eight rebounds led The Citadel (2-9), which lost its seventh straight and remains winless in five road games. DeVontae Wright added 15 and Lawrence Miller 12 for the Bulldogs, who were held well below their scoring average (70.5 points) coming into the game.
Up by 18 points at the break, Denver kept the pressure on The Citadel as Udofia put in a dunk and Rob Lewis, Hallam and his brother, Travis Hallam, hit 3-pointers in the opening minutes of the second half.
