Denver Public Works Snow Crews Working To Clear City Streets

DENVER (CBS4)- Denver Public Works snow crews were working overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning to clear main streets in the city.

Commuters had a tough time navigating some downtown streets because of the deep snow. Even with reduced traffic because of the upcoming holiday, drivers had to plan for extra time to arrive at their destination.

They were fully deployed since snow started to accumulate on most streets with stripes since Wednesday. Road conditions Thursday morning were snow packed and slick.

Snow crews will remain on duty indefinitely.

City agencies in Denver will open for business at 10 a.m. due to extreme weather conditions. All Denver Recreation Centers will also open at 10 a.m.

Trash and recycling collection services performed by Denver Public Works will maintain regularly scheduled collections Thursday.

Denver District and Denver County Courts will remain on their regular schedules with no planned delay.

Several cities throughout the Denver metro area will be operating on a delayed schedule, including the City of Boulder and Arapahoe County.
