33 People Displaced After Apartment Complex Fire In Basalt

BASALT, Colo. (CBS4) – Eleven families lost their homes after an apartment complex went up in flames Friday in Basalt, northwest of Aspen.

The flames caused extensive damage, but everyone got out safely. Thirty-three people are displaced.

The cause is under investigation.

The Red Cross is now helping the families find a place to live.

  1. This is all too familiar. Seven families, including my own lost their home to a fire last year around this time. My heart goes out to all the families, especially during the holiday season.
