Off-Duty Frisco Officer Accused In Fighting Incident

FRISCO, Colo. (CBS4) - The Summit County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fight involving an off-duty Frisco police officer that happened last Friday.

The sheriff's office said deputies responded to a report of a fight in the 1500 block of Lone Pine Circle near the 7000 building around 11 p.m.

"The caller reported to Summit County Dispatch that an officer identifying himself as Daniel Sullivan contacted their unit regarding a noise complaint," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "About 10 minutes later, Sullivan returned to the unit and again told the residents they were being too loud. The second contact turned confrontational, with Sullivan allegedly pushing one of the residents, causing injury to the resident's wrist."

Sullivan, 39, is accused of third-degree assault. He faces up to 18 months in jail and/or up to a $5,000 fine.

"We are working closely with the Summit County Sheriff's Office on this matter," said Frisco Police Chief Tom Wickman. "Once we have all the facts, we will determine a course of action."

Sullivan has been placed on administrative leave.
