Delivery Driver Helps Woman Being Attacked By Pit Bulls

PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4) - Two pit bulls attacked a woman from Pueblo so violently that she had to be flown to Denver for treatment.

The attack happened Monday morning on Alamo Road in Pueblo.

Police say the victim was walking by a home and the dogs ran out and attacked.

Police say the pit bulls dragged the woman down the road by her hair and that she injured her head severely.

A delivery man who talked to CBS4 partner KKTV saw the attack and said he knew he had to help.

"I jumped out of my truck and called police," Gabriel Gonzalez said. "As I'm talking to police I'm fighting the dogs to get them away from the lady who was screaming and crying."

Their owner says the dogs might have been trying to protect two puppies at the home. He has received several citiations and plans to have the pit bulls euthanized.
