ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – Several planes were in the air Sunday delivering donations to rural Colorado communities.
This is the first year for the Charity Airlift. The Colorado Aviation Business Association collected donations for veterans of foreign wars.
The Metro State Flight Team is flying the goods to Montrose, Burlington and Trinidad and other areas that don’t see much support.
VFW groups will disperse the toys and nonperishable foods.
“It’s actually very near and dear to my heart. My father was a veteran and in working with veterans for years you just see dedication they have to the country,” Brittany Davies with the Colorado Aviation Business Association said.
There are plans to make the airlift an annual tradition.
