Colorado Raises $11M Through Tax Amnesty

DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Department of Revenue says taxpayers have coughed up more than $11 million in back tax payments as a result of a tax amnesty.

The department said Friday it expects to approve an additional $3 million by the time if finishes processing payments in January.

Under the Colorado Department of Revenue's program approved by the legislature, most delinquent tax payers were allowed to avoid penalties and pay half the interest on past due taxes by Nov. 15.
