4 Hospitalized After Violent Night In Brighton

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4) - Four people were taken to the hospital after a violent night in Brighton Saturday.

Two people were shot and two others were stabbed. It happened at an apartment building on South 18th Avenue. Three people are now under arrest.

John Bradley with Brighton police said officers were called to a report of shots fired.

"When they arrived on scene they found a 20-year-old male and a 19-year-old male with gunshot wounds, as well a 17-year-old female and a 22-year-old male with apparent stab wounds," Bradley said in a statement.

Bradley said those involved in the violence were inside a residence in the 100 block of North 7th Avenue.

"As police prepared to execute a search warrant on the residence, one of the parties being sought was spotted driving near the area, and was taken into custody," he said.

Police arrested Kevin Taylor, 40, a 15-year-old girl, and a 17-year-old boy. All three face potential charges of attempted first-degree homicide, first-degree degree burglary, and first-degree assault.
