Second Man Arrested After Trinidad Home Invasion
TRINIDAD, Colo. (AP) - A man sought by police in connection with a home invasion in Trinidad has turned himself in.
Police say 21-year-old Mario Dean Chavez of Trinidad and 21-year-old Alejandro Rodriguez are believed to have been with Rory David Rodriguez when he was shot by a resident of a home that was broken into Saturday. Rory David Rodriguez later died.
Denver police arrested Alejandro Rodriguez on Monday at a hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound from an unrelated shooting in Denver.
Chavez was being held Wednesday in the Las Animas County jail on a $45,000 cash or surety bond. He faces charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree trespassing, conspiracy, menacing and attempted theft.
