Denver City Council Unanimously Approves New Police Chief

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver's new police chief will be starting his new job with the unanimous approval of Denver City Council for the deal that brought him to Denver.

The city council approved Robert White's salary Monday night.

Mayor Michael Hancock selected White to replace outgoing Chief Gerry Whitman. White will start work Dec. 12.

CBS4 investigators learned the contract calls for a salary of nearly $162,000. The city will also pay for up to $15,000 for 6 months of temporary housing for White, who is moving from Louisville, Kent.

White will also receive a city vehicle to drive.
