Joe Garcia Wraps Up Colorado Childhood Literacy Tour

BURLINGTON, Colo. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia is wrapping up his childhood literacy tour on Colorado's Eastern Plains.

Garcia is meeting with teachers, parents and community leaders in Burlington, Limon and Bennett on Monday. The CEO of Mile High United Way, Christine Benero, is also participating.

Garcia says he wants to find ways to foster literacy from birth through age 8.

Garcia was president of Colorado State University in Pueblo before becoming John Hickenlooper's running mate.
