DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Public Schools is getting a multimillion dollar federal grant to help get students ready for college. The money is earmarked for students in northwest Denver.
The 6-year grant targets middle school students. On Wednesday Superintendent Tom Boasberg talked with sixth-graders about their college goals.
"So we are talking to them today about their hopes, their dreams, and the extraordinary importance of college to help them realize those dreams," Boasberg said.
The program is expected to increase the area's graduation rates, as well as college enrollment.
