2 Arrested In Fort Collins Shooting

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Fort Collins that put a nearby elementary school on lockdown.

Police said Wednesday that 21-year-old Blossom Eva Sanchez of Ault and 22-year-old Luis Daniel Gomez of Fort Collins exchanged words with one of the shooting victims, including derogatory gang remarks, and threw rocks during a dispute in a Walmart parking lot on Tuesday. About a half hour later, police say Sanchez and Gomez drove by the same group and Gomez got out and fired four to six shots.

No one was hit.

Sanchez and Gomez were arrested on investigation of three counts of first degree assault and three counts of felony menacing.

Both were being held at the Larimer County jail.
