DURANGO, Colo. (AP) – David Letterman’s son celebrated his 8th birthday with a ride on a historic tourist train in southwestern Colorado.
The Durango Herald reported that Letterman and his son, Harry, took a ride on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad on Saturday.
Railroad owner Al Harper told the newspaper that six adults and four children were aboard a private train for the trip from Durango to Cascade Canyon.
He said he gave David Letterman a tour of the railroad’s museum and roundhouse, saying he could have not been nicer.
The railroad started running in 1882, mainly to haul gold and silver from mines. Its coal-fired trains now offer riders views of the San Juan Mountains.
