Woman Hit By Light Rail Was Listening To An iPod

DENVER (CBS4) – A light rail accident critically injured a woman Friday afternoon.

It happened at Speer Boulevard and Stout Street. Witnesses told police the woman, identified as Laura Triem, 21, waited for the eastbound train to cross but she failed to look the other way and was hit by the westbound train.

Witnesses also said the woman might have been distracted because she was wearing headphones from an iPod.

This is such a shame and can happen to anyone. I hope she recovers fully. She is a very pretty girl too. But, I find people wearing head phones so annoying and they are targets for attacks by others since they are not fully paying attention. Also I often wonder how they will be hearing when they turn 50, most play them way too loud and are damaging their ears. Its a terrible thing to lose your hearing.
