Man Charged With Sexual Assaulting Teen At Water World

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)- A man has been arrested and charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager he met at Water World two years ago.

Police said Fernando Archuleta was a regular at the Water Park in the summer of 2009.

They said Fernando, 40, met the 14-year-old girl in a wave pool and offered to teach her tricks on a surfboard.

The arrest affidavit states Archuleta told the girl he was 28-years-old, that he was an artist, that he painted clothing and that he was an aspiring rapper. He arranged to meet the girl at a mall and t hen again at an arts festival in Denver.

The girl told investigators that the two of them "hung out a lot."

According to the affidavit Archuleta texted the teen and told her he had some CDs he wanted to show her. He went to her house in Westminster. The young teen arranged for him to come through a window so he could show her the CDs. Police said that's when he sexually assaulted the girl.
