Mother Of Two Children Who Died In Fire Arrested

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- The mother of two children who died after a fire engulfed the home they were living in was arrested Wednesday night.

Police in Aurora took Danielle Lynn Brockman into custody. Brockman, 23, is being held for two counts of child abuse resulting in death, a felony.

During the investigation, detectives determined that the two children, Alivia Ramirez, 2, and Timothy Ramirez, 3, were home alone at the time the fire broke out.

Additional details about the fire have not been released because the arrest warrant is sealed by a court order.

Brockman's bond was initially set at $500,000.

Alivia died at about 1 a.m. Tuesday after succumbing to her injuries. Timothy died in Sunday's fire.

Firefighters rushed to 12685 E. 13 Ave. on a report of a house fire at about 5 a.m. Sunday.

When firefighters got to the scene of the blaze they said a woman was outside crying hysterically that her children were inside and she couldn't get to them.
