2 Resorts Opening This Week Happy About Latest Storm

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Wednesday's snow is just what the ski resorts wanted -- especially two resorts in Summit County that are opening this week.

Even after the storm passed Copper Mountain was making more snow Wednesday afternoon thanks to the cold temperatures in the mountains. Copper will open Friday with a couple of runs and a terrain park.

"I think this snow absolutely helps us out. We're so excited to open on Friday with this unofficial 4 inches, it definitely helps," David Roth with Copper Mountain said.

Keystone will also open Friday morning with top-to-bottom skiing. The resort plans a ceremony for co-founder Max Dercum who passed away in September, days before his 99th birthday.
