Prison For Ex-County Worker Convicted In Sex Cases
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A former El Paso County employee convicted of sexually abusing three girls has been sentenced to 66 years to life in prison.
The Gazette reports that before Michael Ray Adams was sentenced Tuesday, 4th Judicial District Judge David Gilbert said Adams treated his victims as "toys" and "slaves" who were manipulated into sex and then bullied into keeping his secrets.
Adams was a sales tax analyst for El Paso County but was fired after the allegations surfaced last year.
Public defender Cindy Jones had argued at trial that prosecutors had little evidence beyond the word of the accusers. She said appeals would be filed.
