CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4)- The winter storm is giving tire stores a big surge in business.
One tire store told CBS4 that as soon as people heard the first big snowstorm of the season was on its way, there was a big rush to get winter tires.
Employees at Discount Tire in Castle Rock worked on a steady stream of cars all day Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the parking lot was packed with people looking to get an edge for driving in the snow.
“Well, the snow tire is designed especially for winter, so there is a pretty big difference. An all-season tire is kind of the jack of all trades, it’s good at a little bit of everything, where a winter tire is designed for traction purposes and safety. So, to keep your vehicle as safe as possible a winter tire is always recommended,” said Discount Tire Store Manager Sieger Hartgers.
While some were buying new tires, others brought their winter tires out of storage and were having them reinstalled on their vehicles.
