Search Turns Up Boat, Fisherman Still Missing

GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Garfield County Search and Rescue crews have recovered a missing boat, but the fisherman who was on it remains missing.

The boat had sunk into the Colorado River at about 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 14 when it collided with an overpass pillar and a man was ejected from the boat.

The search operation for the man and boat continued at 10 a.m. Saturday. The boat was removed from the river at 12:15 p.m.

Crews continued their search for the fisherman Saturday afternoon. The owner of the boat helped in the recovery of the boat.

The Summit County Dive Teams used ultrasound and an underwater camera along with divers, dogs and watercraft to try to locate the missing man. Authorities have not released his identity or the identity of his companions.
