Family Evacuated After Home Next Door Starts To Lean

DENVER (CBS4) - A house under renovations in Denver's Washington Park neighborhood started to lean to one side, forcing the family next door to evacuate.

The home is located at S. Washington Street and E. Exposition Ave. Pieces of the home, including bricks, started to fall off. A construction team pumped concrete into the basement to help stabilize the home and to keep it from collapsing onto a neighboring home.

A family of four who lives in the home next door evacuated as a precaution. Neither firefighters nor police were called to the home to investigate the incident.

A construction worker told CBS4 it was unclear whether the concrete fix worked. The worker said once the home is stabilized it will be demolished.
