DPD Honors Man For Saving Woman Who Was Being Attacked

DENVER (CBS4) - He saved a woman who was being attacked and on Monday she had a chance to thank the Good Samaritan.

David Padilla is a Denver Public Works employee. He was awarded the highest honor for a citizen from the Denver Police Department.

Padilla saw a man ram a woman's car and then start beating her last July. Padilla tackled the attacker and held him until police arrived.

"I was in the right place at the right time. It was an adrenaline rush but I'm glad I was there and I'm glad I could help you," Padilla told the woman.

"It's like one of those things you would see in a dream. It was happening in slow motion. I'm just thankful that the police were there on that day fast," the woman said.

Padilla not only stopped the assault but the man was also wanted for robbery.
